VOTAGO ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF FREE SOFTWARE APPLICATION FOR CREATING ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS
GLEN ROCK, N.J., December 20, 2006 – Votago LLC, a developer of personal software applications designed for use on portable digital devices, today announced the market introduction of a free application that allows users to create and maintain electronic health and medical records.
The application, called Votago Personal Health, is now available free for download from the company’s web site: http://www.votago.com/.
Votago Personal Health is optimized for use on USB flash drives. Users will be able to store personal health and medical records, as well as information on medications, medical tests, and physician and health insurance data. The software also includes a “media” tab that enables the user to upload, view and store medical digital image files (i.e., jpg, .gif and .png) such as digital x-rays and EKGs. Future versions will import and playback select audio and video file formats.
Bryan M. Parola, president of Votago, said, “The creation and use of electronic health and medical records are widely viewed as an imperative in healthcare today. Electronic records are a valuable tool to help people manage their day-to-day health. What’s more, having digital health records is essential in light of preparedness measures for emergency-response situations and natural disasters.
“Distribution of this free portable application ties to our company’s mission: to actively promote the broad development and use of electronic medical records to improve personal health and healthcare,” Mr. Parola added.
Votago Personal Health features password protection and encrypted data security features. For added protection, Votago urges users to preserve privacy by enabling the “restricted access features” included with USB Flash Drives and other portable devices. Thus, users will be able to protect their personal information and share it only with authorized users (i.e., physicians, pharmacists, healthcare workers) on an as-needed basis.
According to Keith Tucci, Chief Technology Officer of Votago, "Votago Personal Health is the first in a suite of portable software applications built from Votago's proprietary architectural framework. Our product roadmap calls for several new releases that take full advantage of the 'media' functionality and provide users with applications that store and manage digital images, video and sound."
Votago is developing a series of other portable applications designed for personal health, diet and fitness. The company’s other health applications – the Votago Family Health Planner and the Votago Disease Management Planner – will be priced at under $10 (US) per download.
Votago also works with hospitals, insurers and other healthcare industry clients to custom-brand its eHealth applications for those organizations.

Hi Bryan
Useful program, and thanks!
Ideas...
>Additional areas for vital stats such as allergies, blood type, organ donor info and healthcare proxy info (to be verified).
>MD specialty and phone should be shown without need for click-through.
>Images are slow to load (even small files)
>An autorun feature when usb is plugged in (if Windows supports it).
Anyone have any other suggestions??
Thanks again
Happy New Year!

I'd really like to have the ability to include pdf files in the media section (xrays, lab reports, ekgs, etc).
